The Palm Observatory is an essential tool in the recognition and visibility of the voice of the workers and communities that are part of the oil palm chain.
By focusing on the transparent collection and analysis of information, our observatory aims to shed light on labour conditions and respect for human rights in palm oil production, as is appropriate according to the principles of RSPO mechanisms.
Through this comprehensive analysis, we seek not only to identify areas for improvement, but also to encourage accountability and promote practices that respect the fundamental rights of those who contribute to this vital industry.
With this in mind, CNV Internationaal and Oxfam, two organisations working in the defense of human rights for more than 50 years, are working now together.

CNV Internationaal has been fighting poverty since 1967. For 55 years it has worked with independent trade unions in Africa, Latin America and Asia to improve the working conditions of workers in the formal and informal economy; it monitors and generates evidence, continuously analyses and reflects on it, in order to act, influence and advocate.
On its part, Oxfam is a global movement made up of people working together to fight inequality, thereby ending poverty and injustice. It works with thousands of partner organizations and allies in nearly 70 countries, supporting communities so they can improve their living conditions, promoting resilience, and protecting lives and livelihoods in times of crisis.
In the pursuit of lasting solutions, Oxfam combats the inequalities that keep people trapped in poverty and injustice, addresses structural causes rather than symptoms, and campaigns to promote real and lasting change.
