What is the Palm Rights Observatory?
In a world in constant evolution, where social awareness and corporate responsibility have become fundamental pillars for sustainable development, the Palm Observatory on Human and Labor Rights for Honduras and Guatemala stands as a pioneering initiative. This project, developed by Oxfam and CNV Internationaal, with the financial support of RSPO, represents a significant effort to make visible the conditions of workers and communities near palm plantations.
The observatory seeks not only to give voice to those who have been historically silenced, but also to promote a fairer and more equitable future in the palm value chain. By collecting and disseminating accurate and detailed data on labor practices and human rights, this initiative aims to generate a tangible and positive impact.
The Fair Work Monitor focuses on documenting and analyzing various aspects of the working and living conditions of workers and communities, providing a platform where their experiences and challenges can be expressed and shared. By highlighting these stories, we encourage greater transparency and accountability between companies and consumers.

Additionally, the Monitor works closely with local and international organizations to drive legislative changes and public policies that ensure the respect and promotion of labor and human rights. Through workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns, it seeks to educate and empower communities, enabling them to defend their rights and demand dignified and safe working conditions.
The Palm Rights Observatory is a space for the visualization and visibility of the findings from CNV Internationaal's Fair Work Monitoring and the human rights research conducted by Oxfam. It has 124 participants.
